The Best 8 Chromebooks to Play Roblox on

The Best 8 Chromebooks to Play Roblox on

Let’s face it: Chromebooks aren’t the first thing that comes to our minds when shopping for a gaming device to play Roblox on. However, over the years, Chromebooks have improved a lot and have gotten the specs needed to run Roblox with max graphics and high FPS. In this guide, I will be discussing the 8 Best Chromebooks to play Roblox on in 2023 that I extensively tested and used.

Why get a Chromebook for playing Roblox on in 2023?

As previously discussed, Chromebooks didn’t use to be the first choice of gamers when shopping for a gaming laptop. But thanks to recent releases and advances in both hardware and software, Chromebooks have gotten better each year. In 2023, there are Chromebooks that even rival high-end laptops with their beefy specs, gorgeous screens, and outstanding gaming capabilities.

Besides those reasons though, why else should you get a Chromebook for playing Roblox on in 2023 Here are some neat Chromebook features that may help you with that.

The benefits and perks that come with ChromeOS

One of the most defining features of a Chromebook is, of course, ChromeOS. If you didn’t know by now, ChromeOS is Google’s own Operating System that is pre-installed in Chromebooks. It’s relatively young and still new to the game compared to OS giants like Windows and macOS, but it’s gotten really sophisticated and advanced over the years.

During my time of use with these Chromebooks, one thing I noticed that’s uniform across all the laptops is just how smooth navigating ChromeOS was. Seldom did I experience hiccups, slowdowns, and lag that I frequently experienced with my high-end Windows 11 gaming pc.

It’s also super easy to use and is touch/tablet-friendly, making it accessible to kids, adults, and elderly alike. The best thing about ChromeOS, however, is the native ability to run Android apps. Since Android and ChromeOS are both made by Google, most Android apps should run fine in ChromeOS without the need of downloading third-party software like BlueStacks and Noxplayer. This means that you will have access to the millions of apps in the Play Store (which comes included in ChromeOS) like Roblox, Minecraft, Terraria, and more.

Cheaper than mainstream laptops

Another reason why you would want to get a Chromebook is because of its cheaper average price than your typical Windows laptop. Most Chromebooks start at around $200 to $300 with high-end models topping out at $600. That’s substantially cheaper than most Windows gaming laptops that start at $800.

Ultra-portable and lightweight

Most Chromebooks have very slim and lightweight form factors as well. This is thanks to their ultrabook design that allows them to be portable without any compromise in performance. Perfect for student gamers who love bringing their laptops to school.

The ability to turn them into tablets

It’s also a common sight to see Chromebooks that are 2-in-1s, meaning they can be folded to a tablet form factor. If you love playing via touch controls and adore the screen real estate of tablets, then Chromebooks are a no-brainer to play Roblox on.

The technical factors to consider when shopping for a Chromebook to play Roblox on

As Roblox is an easy game to run, you can typically be relaxed with the specs you get for it. However, it’s also important that you look at some technical factors before confirming your purchase as a Chromebook is a versatile device that’s not only made for gaming, but for other tasks as well.

A Chromebook’s CPU or processor

A Chromebook’s CPU or processor is responsible for doing simple to sophisticated activities such as opening an application and running games, therefore it’s critical to have one that can play Roblox at 60 frames per second. The most popular CPU manufacturers for Chromebooks are Intel and Qualcomm, each with their own respective CPU lineups for different price points. For the average gamer, an Intel i5 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c processor should suffice for light games and tasks like Roblox and writing papers respectively.

Next up is the GPU or graphics processing unit

Next up is the GPU or graphics processing unit that works closely with your Chromebook’s CPU to render 2D and 3D areas, as well as complex images—which in our case, is Roblox. Since Roblox isn’t an inherently hard game to run, the onboard graphics processors that come built-in your CPU should be enough as most Chromebooks don’t have dedicated GPUs anyway.

Random Access Memory or RAM

Random Access Memory or RAM of your Chromebook is another feature that you should not overlook. Because RAM is where your programs are temporarily stored while they’re running, the more RAM you have, the more apps you’ll be able to run at once without having any issues. In 2023, 8 GB of RAM will be the sweet spot, with 16 GB being a nice-to-have for better multitasking performance. 8 GB of RAM should be more than enough to let you run Discord and Chrome in the background while you’re playing Roblox.

Chromebook’s battery capacity

Finally, we have your Chromebook’s battery capacity. You can have the most powerful CPU and GPU, as well as the most RAM, but without a long-lasting battery, you won’t be able to play for very long. This is why purchasing a Chromebook with at least 4-6 hours of unplugged gaming time is ideal. In 2023, the average Chromebook will have a battery capacity of 3000 to 4000 mAh. Anything less could jeopardize the lifetime and battery life of your Chromebook. Bonus tip: heat is the worst enemy of batteries and Chromebooks (and laptops for this matter) become very hot when gaming, so you might want to invest in a laptop stand or cooler. Better yet, avoid playing under the heat of the sun too so that you can preserve your Chromebook’s battery health even better.

To help you get a grasp of what specs you’ll need to run Roblox smoothly, here are the Roblox’s recommended specs list:

Common misconceptions that people have regarding Chromebooks

As Chromebooks cover a specific niche of buyers and gamers, there are a lot of misconceptions and myths surrounding its OS and its features. Let’s discuss some and hopefully clear some of them here.

Chromebooks cannot play video games and are only good for light tasks like writing documents and web browsing.

Wrong. Chromebooks nowadays are very much capable of playing games thanks to the built-in Google Play Store of ChromeOS and better specs of modern iterations. With the Play Store, you can download essentially anything you have on your Android phone over to your Chromebook, like Roblox!

I need a high-end, top of the line Chromebook to play Roblox

Yes and no. Yes for gamers who also want to develop Roblox games on the side since building Roblox games in an entry-level Chromebook can be challenging due to their limited CPU, GPU, and RAM power.

For the average gamer, however, no. You are going to be fine with entry-level and mid-range Chromebooks as Roblox is an easy game to run across all devices, although your mileage may vary with secondhand Chromebooks that have been released 5+ years ago.

The Best 8 Chromebooks to play Roblox on

Okay, so we’ve got the important details out of the way. It’s about time that we finally discuss my curated list of the Best 8 Chromebooks to play Roblox on that I have tested and used in the past week or so. The Chromebooks on this list will be of course rated and critiqued based on the technical factors that we discussed earlier.

1. The Price to Performance All Star: Acer Chromebook Spin 713

Acer Chromebook Spin 713

The Price to Performance All Star

  • Beautiful and vivid 13.5 inch 3:2 screen with touch capabilities
  • Fast Intel Core i5
  • Respectable 8 GB RAM for multi-tasking

We’re starting off this list strong with the best Chromebook I have tested during these past weeks: the Acer Chromebook Spin 713. There are definitely a lot of standout features with the Acer Spin 713, but perhaps what I enjoyed the most is its beautiful 13.5 inch 3:2 touchscreen that can also be used as a tablet. It is colorful, bright, and smooth as butter to the touch.

Pros

  • Beautiful and vivid 13.5 inch 3:2 screen with touch capabilities
  • Fast Intel Core i5
  • Respectable 8 GB RAM for multi-tasking
  • 2-in-1 ready
  • Clicky chiclet-style keyboard
  • Good battery life
  • Comes with an SSD for lightning-fast boot up speeds

Cons

  • Small 128 GB storage
  • A bit heavy
  • Can still be a bit expensive for some

Under the display is a modest Intel i5 – 10120U coupled with 8 GB RAM that makes it a formidable Roblox machine. During my Roblox sessions with this machine, I did not experience stutters or hiccups once and I can confidently say that I had a pleasant time. This was also with Chrome and Discord running in the background for roughly 4+ hours, so that alone should say a lot about its multitasking capabilities and battery life.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows though. Although it’s got a great display and a powerful CPU, its storage is a measly 128 GB SSD—which wasn’t even 128 GB out of the box since ChromeOS already took up some space! It being an SSD though means that it’s fast to boot and the OS is smooth to navigate, but I just can’t be comfortable knowing that I already topped out in storage with just a few movies, games, and apps.

If you’re a power user like me who needs more than 128 GB, you’ll definitely need to hook up an external hard drive to expand your storage further. I also noticed that the Acer Spin 713 is a little on the heavier side, weighing in at around 4 lbs. That said, it is still portable and very manageable – but I definitely felt its weight on my backpack as I brought it along with me outside.

Overall, the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 is still the best and most enjoyable Chromebook I have used because of its reasonable asking price and specs that are more than enough for Roblox and light tasks.

2. The Best Chromebook Below $500: Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook

Best Chromebook Below $500

  • Gorgeous AMOLED display with saturated colors
  • Lightweight form factor
  • Highly capable 2-in-1 device

Next up is yet another 2-in-1, the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. Lenovo dubs the IdeaPad Duet 5 as the “Ultimate” 2-in-1, and I agree, well, sort of. First, it’s got an excellent 13.3 inch OLED display that truly shines with saturated colors and deep blacks. It’s one of the best displays I’ve seen in a Chromebook and definitely contributed to my Roblox gaming experience that I’ll get to shortly.

Pros

  • Gorgeous AMOLED display with saturated colors
  • Lightweight form factor
  • Highly capable 2-in-1 device
  • Powerful Snapdragon SC7180
  • Great build quality
  • Crystal clear audio with 4 speakers

Cons

  • Dated 4 GB RAM count
  • Undersized 64 GB storage

For its CPU and RAM, it has a Snapdragon SC7180 and 4 GB RAM which are more on the entry-level side of stuff. 4 GB RAM is still enough for Chromebooks and Roblox anyways, but it’s surely pushing the IdeaPad Duet 5 to the edge.

I tried running Chrome, Discord, and Roblox at the same time and I was unfortunately faced with frame rate drops, stutters, and even an app crash. Its battery however is excellent as I was able to push it to 4+ hours of non-stop gaming in tablet mode.

Performance of the Snapdragon SC7180 is also great as I was able to hold 60 FPS for the most part of my testing. This is without anything running in the background though, so take that as you will.

It’s also worth noting that this Lenovo Chromebook has an even smaller storage size than the Spin 713, with only a 64 GB HDD out of the box. As it’s only 64 GB and an HDD instead of an SSD, you’ll be limited with the apps, movies, and files you install as well as the speed you’ll experience when booting the Chromebook up.

Personally, I was really bothered by this as I am very much used to having an SSD for all my boot drives, but for the average user, an HDD should still be fine. I don’t know if I can say the same for the 64 GB of storage count though.

For its price, I still think it’s good enough and better than most sub-$400 offerings out there. Its display is excellent along with its battery and build quality, but it’s let down by its subpar RAM count and storage.

3. The Best Detachable Chromebook: Asus Chromebook Detachable CM3

Asus Chromebook Detachable CM3

The Best Detachable Chromebook

  • Detachable screen that snaps in place automatically
  • Stylus pen provided

Entering this list is a Detachable CM3 Chromebook by ASUS. Personally, I have used two Windows-powered ASUS laptops and they have proven to be reliable in terms of overall day-to-day functionality. However, with the continuous progression of technology, ASUS has looked into innovations that stood out to me the most.

Pros

  • Detachable screen that snaps in place automatically
  • Stylus pen
  • Adjustable kickstand

Cons

  • 64 GB internal storage
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Mediocre processor
  • Doesn’t run Linux apps very well

For instance, the ASUS CM3 sports a detachable screen that can function similarly to an Apple iPad. This feature promotes handheld portability, which allows you to play Roblox wherever you are, and wherever you go. I personally played Roblox inside the car while we were on a 2-hour trip to my grandparents’ home and the portability kept me entertained during the trip.

It also has an integrated kickstand that allows you to position the screen to your liking. And with these features into play, it is also worth noting that the screen of the ASUS CM3 has stylus support. It makes sense that this ASUS Chromebook comes with a stylus pen as well.

This feature is perfect for playing Squid Game in Roblox, specifically during the cookie cutting round. With the stylus support of the ASUS CM3, I was able to easily pass the cookie cutting round of Squid Game in Roblox due to the responsiveness and accuracy the stylus support provides.

With all of those quirks of the CM3 mentioned, this particular Chromebook only falls behind in its hardware. First, you are limited by its internal storage of 64 GB only. This would be a limitation for Roblox players that enjoy exploring other maps and games as the 64 GB storage can be filled up easily by downloading numerous maps.

It also has 4 GB of RAM, which, as mentioned earlier, is decent for day-to-day writing, but can experience frame drops during a Roblox game with Discord and Chrome open in the background. Additionally, the ASUS CM3 sports a MediaTek 8183 processor which is quite sluggish, especially for gaming, and frame drops are to be expected while playing Roblox.

Regardless, the ASUS Chromebook CM3 is worth the money considering its aforementioned features such as its detachability and its stylus support. Currently, the ASUS Chromebook CM3 sits around the $320 to $330 price range, and it is not a bad offer for a Chromebook if you value portability above everything else.

4. The best 14-inch Chromebook: ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5

ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5

The best 14-inch Chromebook

  • Multiple hardware options offered
  • Comes with an SSD for lightning-fast bootup times
  • Stylus and touch screen support

Adding up to this list is another Chromebook by ASUS. When I went out to test the ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5, I was rather amazed at the number of options ASUS had to offer. I had four options to choose from the ASUS Flip CX5.

Pros

  • Multiple hardware options offered
  • Comes with an SSD for lightning-fast bootup times
  • Stylus and touch screen support
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Screen output is average
  • Mediocre battery life
  • Relatively expensive

The first model comes with a 10th generation Intel Core i3 processor with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD storage.

The second model is similar to the first model but is powered by the more updated 11th generation Intel Core i3 processor.

The third model sports an Intel Core i5 11th generation processor, 16 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of SSD storage.

The fourth model is packed with an even more powerful 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor with 512 GB of SSD storage and similarly to the i5 model, sports 16 GB of RAM.

I have decided to test the 11th generation i5 powered Flip CX5 as it is the middle-grade option for this particular ASUS Chromebook.

Using the i5 powered Flip CX5 performed very smoothly on my end. Loading Roblox games was really quick not only due to its i5 processor but also because of its 256 GB SSD storage. I rarely encountered any stutters or frame drops, and have never experienced game crashes due to its 16 GB RAM.

Similar to the CM3, it also has stylus and touch support, which is excellent for Roblox games that may require drawing in game, such as during the cookie cutting round of Squid Game.

Another feature I really enjoyed with the Flip CX5 is its overall build. It is very lightweight and feels very comfortable to bring around. The screen and the body are also evenly distributed, which if you decide to use the Flip CX5 as a tablet, it wouldn’t feel like you are holding a massive screen.

Although the performance is overall excellent, there are a few drawbacks. For instance, the screen output is not the best. Although this is entirely up to preference, I noticed that the screen lacks vividness as compared to the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 and the Lenovo Ideapad Duet 5 I have mentioned in this list. Another drawback I have noticed is its battery life. From a fully charged battery, playing Roblox for an hour left me with around 70 percent battery remaining.

The ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 starts at around $700 for the base option. Although the Flip CX5 sits at a relatively steep price amongst the aforementioned Chromebooks, the Flip CX5 is a Chromebook that certainly packs exceptional performance.

5. The Best Entry Level Chromebook: Lenovo Chromebook Duet

Lenovo Chromebook Duet

The Best Entry Level Chromebook

  • Very affordable
  • Portable and light weight
  • SSD for lightning-fast bootup times

Not to be confused with the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook; the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is a budget-friendly Chromebook catered to consumers who mainly want to get a feel of Google’s interface in the form of a laptop. What stood out to me the most, apart from its price point, is the portability of this Chromebook.

Pros

  • Very affordable
  • Portable and light weight
  • Comes with an SSD for lightning-fast bootup times
  • Decent battery life

Cons

  • Lackluster integrated graphics
  • Mediocre processor
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • Small display for gaming

Compared to the other Chromebooks mentioned in this list, this Lenovo Chromebook Duet has a 10.1 inch IPS display that supports a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200. With this kind of resolution and display, the Chromebook Duet can even be compared to the likes of a Samsung Galaxy Tab.

With regards to its performance, you’re basically getting what you pay for in this Chromebook as its hardware is mostly designed for simple tasks done on a Chromebook, such as internet browsing and business-related tasks.

The specifications for the Lenovo Chromebook Duet are relatively similar to the Asus Chromebook Detachable CM3, which is powered by a MediaTek processor that can be clocked up to 2 GHz and 4 GB of RAM. It is also worth mentioning that the Lenovo Chromebook Duet comes with an SSD as its internal storage, which surprised me with the loading speed of Roblox as I initially did not recognize the type of internal storage this Chromebook has.

As for the actual gaming performance, it’s actually decent for the amount you are forking out. As I tested this device, I certainly did not expect it to actually perform in a manner that made my Roblox games playable at the very least. Of course, I have encountered instances of frame drops, but that is to be expected as it is not necessarily a device focused on gaming performance.

To my surprise, however, the battery life is also very decent for what it is. Despite being a small device, I was able to play Roblox for 2-3 hours and still had 50 percent of battery remaining.

For what it’s worth, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet surely gave me plenty of pleasant surprises. For a Chromebook that is below $300, this Chromebook has certainly proven its capability not only in regular tasks but also in its performance to run Roblox. Just don’t max out your graphics settings and the Lenovo Chromebook Duet will do its job well.

6. The best mid-range Chromebook: Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2

The best mid-range Chromebook

  • Unique color scheme
  • Great build quality
  • Amazing QLED display

Samsung Galaxy is a well-known name in the world of smartphones, and they have also entered the world of Chromebooks with the first Galaxy Chromebook packing a punch in the competition 2 years ago. Like the first Galaxy Chromebook, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 comes with a unique ‘fiesta red’ color scheme that definitely stood out to me first.

Pros

  • Unique color scheme
  • Great build quality
  • Amazing QLED display
  • Multiple options for RAM and internal storage
  • Touch support

Cons

  • Limited to a 10th generation Intel Core i3 processor
  • Base option is powered by an Intel Celeron processor
  • HDD as internal storage

However, Samsung also offers a gray color for consumers that want a much subtle Chromebook. The build quality of this Chromebook definitely feels premium and durable, sporting an amazing QLED display, which is definitely one of the best mentioned in this list.

It is worth mentioning that the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 comes in 3 options. These options are as follows:

  1. 64 GB internal storage; 8 GB RAM; Intel Celeron processor
  2. 128 GB internal storage; 8 GB RAM; Intel Core i3 10th generation processor
  3. 128 GB internal storage; 16 GB RAM; Intel Core i3 10th generation processor

For this review, I went with the middle-grade option as it is the cheapest option with an Intel Core i3 processor. The Roblox experience in the Chromebook was definitely great with frame drops rarely occurring.

However, it does not load as fast as the other SSD-powered Chromebooks mentioned in the list as it only possesses an HDD as its internal storage. Nevertheless, having a decent amount of RAM for gaming and a 10th generation Intel Core i3 processor still offers a smooth gaming experience.

I do wish that Samsung would offer other options for the processor because offering options for an Intel Core i5 or an i7 would definitely allow consumers to have flexibility in purchasing a Galaxy Chromebook 2.

I do recommend getting either of the two 128 GB internal storage models as they have a significantly better processor than the processor that comes with the 64 GB model. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 is definitely a true contender in this list of Chromebooks capable of playing Roblox.

7. The best Chromebook for students: ASUS Chromebook Flip C214MA-YS02T

ASUS Chromebook Flip C214MA-YS02T

The best Chromebook for students

  • Very affordable
  • Decent battery life
  • Touch screen with stylus

ASUS has entered this list yet again. This student-friendly ASUS Chromebook Flip is not only student-friendly but also budget-friendly. This would also mean that the hardware would be compromised, but it’s nonetheless decent for a Chromebook that does not cost alot.

Pros

  • Very affordable
  • Decent battery life
  • Touch screen
  • Portable
  • Comes with a stylus

Cons

  • Very low speaker volume
  • Mediocre build quality
  • Mediocre processor
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • 32 GB of HDD internal storage

What I really appreciate about this ASUS Chromebook Flip is that it is really easy to hold and bring around whenever you want to use it outdoors. Although the build quality feels cheap, this Chromebook makes up for that flaw through its lightweight factor. I once brought the ASUS Chromebook Flip to a cafe, and this fits inside my knapsack bag perfectly.

Moving on to the hardware factors, it’s exactly what you would expect from a Chromebook at this price point. Within its body is an Intel Celeron N4000, 4 GB of RAM, and an HDD as its internal storage with 32 GB capacity.

Of course, the loading times of Roblox are not the best, but surprisingly enough, I was able to play Roblox in a playable manner. Frame drops, stutters, and occasional crashes are unavoidable with this kind of Chromebook.

Nevertheless, it performs decently given its price point. One thing I noticed while playing Roblox is that the sound output is almost non-existent with this Chromebook. I do recommend plugging in your earphones in order to be able to hear your gameplay better. The battery life is surprisingly decent as well, especially for playing Roblox with such a cheap device. From a fully charged battery, I was left with about 60% battery remaining after playing Roblox for around 2 hours.

As mentioned earlier, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 starts at the $200 mark. It’s a budget-friendly Chromebook that is very suitable for students. It’s the kind of Chromebook that does not necessarily have a lot of features but is rather packed with what the user would need in a Chromebook.

With regards to playing Roblox, it’s a decent experience at the very least. However, for hardcore players of Roblox, the 32 GB of internal storage may be very underwhelming for them as this can be easily filled up by players that enjoy exploring other games or maps in Roblox.

8. The most high-end and featured-pack Chromebook: Google Pixelbook Go

Google Pixelbook Go

  • Multiple hardware options offered
  • Manufactured by Google
  • Good Performance
  • Comes with an SSD for lightning-fast bootup times
  • Stylus and Touch Support
  • Ergonomic

Last but not least is the Chromebook manufactured by Google themselves, catering to many different kinds of consumers as they offer 4 options for their Pixelbook Go.

The options are as follows:

  1. Intel Core m3 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB internal storage
  2. Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB internal storage
  3. Intel Core i5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB internal storage
  4. Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB internal storage

Pros

  • Multiple hardware options offered
  • Manufactured by Google
  • Good Performance
  • Comes with an SSD for lightning-fast bootup times
  • Stylus and Touch Support
  • Ergonomic
  • Good screen quality
  • Decent selection for processor options
  • Base option offers 8 GB of RAM
  • Great build quality
  • Long battery life

Cons

  • All options use a relatively old generation of Intel Core processors
  • Limited to 256 GB of internal storage for its price point
  • Does not have a 360-degree hinge
  • Can be costly

I opted for the second option with the Google Pixelbook Go as it is the option that most consumers would go for with a relatively powerful processor, a decent amount of RAM, and a decent amount of internal storage.

At first, I felt a sense of confidence as I initially tested the Pixelbook Go because I know that this particular Chromebook was made by Google, ensuring that the hardware is reliable and is optimized for Chrome OS.

I also noticed that the build quality of the Google Pixelbook Go feels very premium, which is to be expected as the most premium Chromebook on this list. The same could be said for the screen quality, as it boasts a well-defined output from its screen. Like most Chromebooks, the Pixelbook Go is definitely ergonomic.

The Google Pixelbook Go that I tested is powered by an 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor with 8 GB of RAM and a solid-state drive packing 128 GB of internal storage. Performance wise, this Chromebook feels very smooth to use.

Although the 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor is almost 5 years old, the performance differences from the other Chromebooks I have previously tested showed almost no difference. As expected from an SSD-powered Chromebook, Roblox loaded really fast, and also did not show evident signs of frame dropping or stuttering.

I have also never experienced game crashes with the Google Pixelbook Go and was able to play continuously for 2-3 hours with an acceptable amount of battery remaining. The stylus support is also very responsive, which would be really helpful if you’re playing Roblox games that would require drawing.

However, the Pixelbook Go cannot be treated as a tablet. It can only fold back up to about 150 degrees only, which is similar to a standard laptop. I also wish that given the price point of the Pixelbook Go, it would come with a more updated processor and 512 GB internal storage.

Nevertheless, the Core i5 and i7 options are what consumers would most likely choose, and despite being 4 generations behind, these processors would not disappoint.

I do recommend getting the i5 or i7 options though, as they still perform well in today’s time. If you want to play Roblox on a Chromebook with a premium feel in mind, the Google Pixelbook Go is for you.

My Top Chromebook Pick for Playing Roblox On

We’ve arrived at the end of my Best 8 Chromebooks to play Roblox on. This list is filled with every consideration point you need when choosing a Chromebook for your Roblox gaming needs. I also highlighted a few extra quirks and nuances that can come in handy like portability, detachability, and 2-in-1 functionality.

I made sure that all of these Chromebooks had the bare minimum of the technical factors we discussed earlier while also keeping budget in mind as some options out there offer outrageous asking prices for their lackluster specs

If you want to know which one I would recommend in a jiffy, then it’s going to be the first laptop on the list: the price to performance champ, Acer Chromebook Spin 713. The reason behind this is its reasonable specs and the perfect price. You get a powerful Chromebook that doesn’t only play Roblox well but can also do highly intensive tasks such as multitasking, light video editing, and more.

There’s also the Google-made Google Pixelbook Go that’s premium, high-end and has all the good features of the Spin 713, but for the same price, you’re only getting a 5-year old generation of Intel Core processors that makes it a questionable buy in 2023.

Overall though, the Chromebook market nowadays is definitely full of surprises. Long gone are the days where Chromebooks are just glorified e-books or Amazon Kindles. Every Chromebook I’ve used on this list was all more than usable for Roblox, light tasks, and even decent multitasking.
